Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but that's not the only destination where enthusiasts can experience the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. That said, if gamers will truly desire to use it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons car the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
While many players would absolutely enjoy to face off while driving The Homer—the famously flawed car the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 installment "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the enormous vehicle showcased in season 10. Rather, players will obtain the Simpsons' standard well-worn four-door, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Though this particular car has seen better days, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. And for players who pay attention to the game's car hitboxes, the trusty sedan shares the identical collision model as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
And it's not the sole customization item from the series arriving in the game. The event will also include a series of challenges to unlock additional rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a official announcement, the missions will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance sufficient for acquiring the perfect donuts!"
Although the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also get wheels with a TV showing the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
